This mic is part of the flexible d:dicate™ Microphones Series. It has a cardioid pickup pattern with a smooth and uniform off-axis frequency response. For music instruments, the MMC4011 Cardioid Microphone Capsule is a reference standard for its low-distortion and linear approach in an unusual huge dynamic range. With our sleek floor stands it is also a joy for the stage designer.
Due to its modular nature, the d:dicate™ 4011F Cardioid Microphone Boom can be combined with different lengths of podium booms – 15, 30 or 45 cm (6, 12 or 18 in). If longer booms are needed for floor stands with visual elegance, our long booms at 75 or 120 cm (30 or 48 in) make a high-quality stage voice mic together with our dedicated accessories.
The microphone capsule
The principal appeal of the MMC4011 Cardioid Microphone Capsule is its directional quality and attention to detail. This mic makes everything sounds like the original. The first-order cardioid pickup pattern provides superb separation between sound sources.
It is equally suitable for close-up work on acoustic guitar, grand piano, overheads, percussion, wind instruments and vocals as it is for spot-miking symphonies. It can handle incredibly high sound levels and even includes a 20 dB pad switch in the center of the XLR connector to attenuate the output of the microphone.
A flat on-axis frequency response and excellent phase response deliver a totally faithful reproduction of the original sound. The off-axis response is similarly smooth so that any leakage is an accurate reflection of the original, though attenuated according to the true first-order cardioid pickup pattern.
A truly flexible range
This mic is part of the flexible d:dicate™ Microphone Series. At any time, and with no tools needed, it is possible to transform the d:dicate™ 4011F Cardioid Microphone into a new configuration. You can combine it with another d:dicate™ or d:facto™ Microphone Capsule or Preamplifier.
