A complete stereo pair; two handpicked cardioid condenser microphones, selected on sensitivity within ±1.5 dB. Makes several stereo principles like XY and ORTF easy to obtain.
The compact design and controlled directionality of these mics make them an excellent choice for spot mics for classical recording and on-stage close mics for live sound. The foam design in the heavy-duty transportation box allows for fast and easy exchange of the microphone/accessory inlays.
These condenser microphones are acclaimed for its close-miking excellence and hi-SPL handling. Optimized for onstage use, it has been used on many stages as well as recording sessions. It exhibits a previously unheard blend of clarity, richness and dynamic range.
The off-axis response is linear but in a smaller frequency bandwidth. This makes stage separation and gain-to-feedback higher. The mic level is easier to control.
The mic capsule
Inside this capsule, two opposite-facing miniature capsules are custom rebuilt. They are placed into a double-diaphragm, one-capsule composition. This combines the advantages of small capsules with the lower inherent noise achieved from a larger diaphragm area. These capsules provide fast impulse response and large frequency bandwidth.
The capsules are loaded to the supreme d:dicate™ Microphone series preamplifiers instead of the tiny miniature FET ones. This gives the sound more air and precision.
Comparisons with its big brother, the iconic MMC4011 capsule, are inevitable. The relationship between the two can be clearly heard. The MMC2000 series performs as well as more exclusive microphones. It is a premium-class mic capsule and redefines the term value for money.

A truly flexible range
The d:dicate™ 2011C Twin Diaphragm Cardioid Microphone, Compact is part of the flexible d:dicate™ Microphones Series. It combines the MMC2011 Twin Diaphragm Cardioid Capsule with the MMP-C compact preamplifier. This combination offers a subtle character alteration with a bit more “body” to the low end than the d:dicate™ 2011A Twin Diaphragm Cardioid Microphone. It is also much easier to position than other cardioid mics.
Another option, for the true audiophile, is the d:dicate™ 2011A Twin Diaphragm Cardioid Microphone. It offers low distortion and totally accurate and faithful sound.
At any time, and with no tools needed, it is possible to transform the d:dicate™ 2011C Twin Diaphragm Cardioid Microphone, Compact into a new configuration. You can combine it with another d:dicate™ or d:facto™ Microphone Capsule or Preamplifier.
The d:dicate™ 2011C Twin Diaphragm Cardioid Microphone, Compact is also available individually.
